Abstract
This essay discussed a number of characteristics of environmental law in the early 1990s, delivered to Greek audiences as part of a Fulbright grant. It contains brief overviews of environmental law as it existed in the early 1990s, including environmental impact assessment, pollution control, environmental cleanup, and land and wildlife protection. The essay made of number of predictions about the direction of environmental law, all of which occurred at one time or another, but they have been resisted and sometimes overcome. Predictions are hazardous.
