Description
Lewis & Clark Law School Dean Alicia Ouellette contributed chapter 33, "People with Disabilities in Human Subjects Research: A History of Exploitation, a Problem of Exclusion." People with disabilities are grossly underrepresented in health research. Equal and just representation for persons with disabilities is necessary to improve health outcomes and to respect for individuals who live with impairment. This article parses the causes for exclusion, and sets forth a multidimensional approach for bringing people with disabilities into human subjects research.
