The school-to-prison pipeline is one of the most destructive issues of our day. The pipeline is a linkage of institutional policies and decisions such as zero tolerance policies, suspensions, and expulsions that build on historical inequities to funnel students of color out of schools and into the juvenile and adult justice systems. Our panelists include local experts and those on the ground working toward effective solutions to this pressing civil rights issue.
This event provided fresh perspectives and information about the work occurring both at the policy level and on the ground to implement effective interventions and illuminate ways the legal community might play a role in addressing an issue that affects our entire community.
